Lockdown Kush is a sativa-dominant strain that was bred by crossing San Fernando Valley OG with Afghani #1. Lockdown Kush is a compact plant with a relatively short flowering time for a sativa and grows well in both warm and cool climates. Indoors it reacts well to a variety of training techniques. Despite its high proportion of sativa genetics, this strain grows broad leaves that require thinning out to promote good air flow and light penetration for the innermost buds. Plants display a moderate stretch once flowering commences with plants finishing at 100 - 150 cm. tall indoors and a little taller when cultivated in an outdoor setting. Lockdown Kush is a good choice for growers with limited headroom indoors. Internodal distance is quite short resulting in dense flowering clusters. Indoors, flowering takes 55 - 60 days with yields in the region of 450 gr/m2. Outdoor plants are capable of yielding 550 gr. or more. Mature buds have very swollen calyxes, amber pistils and seriously sticky trichomes. The predominant scent is that of citrus with notes of pine and earth. The taste is sweet with earthy and pine notes. Its initial effect is one of uplifting euphoria followed by a muscle-relaxing body stone that is recommended for easing mild aches and pains.
