Gulupa is a Cali-inspired, indica-dominant hybrid that was the product of a Purple Kush x gelato 33 cross. Gulupa is a colourful strain with good yields of resinous, high-THC buds taking approximately 9 weeks to flower indoors. This strain is recommended for intermediate growers and above. Suitable for both indoor and outdoor cultivation, Gulupa is a bushy and highly vigorous plant with very good resistance. Indoors, plants grow to be 100 cm. tall and take 60 - 65 days to complete flowering with yields in the region of 500 gr/m2. Growers are advised to 'lollipop' the bottom 30 cm. of branches to focus production where it matters. Outdoors, these plants can grow to a height of 200 cm. or more in a warm, Mediterranean-type of climate but they also prosper at up to 50º of latitude due to their hardiness and resistance. In northern latitudes harvest will be due in early October with each plant capable of producing about 700 gr. The Purple Kush parent imparts its propensity to put on a colourful display of autumn colours including purples and reds of different shades. Buds are fat, dense and juicy with resin. The scent of Gulupa includes citrus, strawberry and passion fruit while these are also overlaid on an earthy, hash-like palate that also includes notes of spice and mint. TRHC levels reach 24% and the effect is atypical of indica-dominant strains being energetic, lucid and thoughful, easy to work and be otherwise functional. While it has an easy-going air of relaxation this never tips over into indolence. Therapeutically, Gulupa is quite effective for pain relief without ever becoming at all 'couch-lock'.
